Divorce & Separation

If you have made the tough decision to end your marriage, you are about to embark on a journey that can be time-consuming, confusing, frustrating, and upsetting.  The Law Office recognizes that divorce and separation are traumatic events.  Services are personalized to provide the legal counseling necessary to respond to conflicts.  Each client’s situation is unique.  The Law Office is here to assist you throughout the entire process.  Ms. Castellano has decades of experience to bring to each case.  She strives to address each client’s needs in a caring, timely, and professional manner.

Ms. Castellano recommends to her clients that they see their relationship with the Law Office as being part of a team that has been formed to help them.  Clients are encouraged to work closely with the office to provide data, information, and documents that can be used to both frame and prove an issue in the client’s favor.  While Ms. Castellano is aboard the journey with each client, she serves as the navigator charged with explaining where each route leads.  It is the client who is the driver.  As the driver, the client decides the ultimate destination.

In a litigated divorce, a judge is available to make all of the decisions involving you and your family.  The Law Office drafts all the papers necessary to go to court and advocates for the best possible outcome.  The process is adversarial with each side pushing hard for what he or she wants.  When the attorneys cannot reach a negotiated result, it is up to a judge to decide the terms and conditions of the divorce, and make the final call on financial matters, distribution of property, child custody, support and all other issues.  When there is physical violence in the marriage, a litigated divorce is the only option to ensure the safety of a spouse and children.
